MEMORANDUM TO PM ON 24-10-2013 (THURSDAY), 10AM, AT PARLIAMENT !

It has been 10 months since the implementation of Minimum Wage RM900 in peninsular Malaysia and RM800 in Sabah and Sarawak. The majority workers yet unable to enjoy the minimum wage. WHY?

Employers has 101 excuses to not to implement Minimum Wage in their companies. What Government has done so far?

1.      Extension of implementation for one year to all the Small and Medium Industries (SME’s).

2.      Suspend the implementation of minimum wage to migrant workers in Malaysia

3.      No action against the unscrupulous employers on implementing Minimum wage.

We question the government on its measures to ensure the full implementation of Minimum Wage in January 2014 by having all these loop holes. Therefore, Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) and Jaringan Rakyat Tertindas (JERIT) will submit a memorandum with suggestions on measures to support Small and Medium Industries (SME’s) in short term to ensure the full implementation to take place least from January 2014.

The memorandum will be handed to Prime Minister on 24 October 2013, 10.00am, at Parliament, before the Budget 2014 announcement.
